History

The Armco group of companies was founded by members of the Armoyan family in 1982 and has grown dramatically from a small company, run almost entirely by two brothers, into a diversified and dynamic group of companies. As the largest residential land developer in Eastern Canada, Armco Communities has a deep commitment to excellence, an unyielding focus on families and a strong desire to meet the needs of today's homebuyers.

The Communities created by Armco vary from country-style communities such as Kingswood and Kingswood North to mixed density, city-serviced communities such as Royale Hemlocks and Governor's Brook. Every Armco Community is carefully planned and range in price and characteristics, perfectly suited to the needs of the single person, the new family, families looking for more space or the requirements of the retiree.  Whether homebuyers crave the hustle and bustle of city life or the tranquility of country living, Armco has a community to suit your needs.

With new communities developed each year, Armco Communities comprise approximately 30% of all homesites developed in HRM for single family, semi-detached and townhouse lots, and show no sign of slowing down, with new developments being planned such as Lovett Lake in Beechville to Erindale in Eastern Passage and new phases of Governor's Brook in Halifax. For over 30 years Armco Communities have been building with the needs of homebuyers in mind.
